Pixio AI does not collect any of the following:

• Personal information (names, emails, addresses)
• Browsing history or website URLs you visit
• Webpage content you analyze
• Chat conversations with AI
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Device information or browser fingerprints

2. Data Storage

Local Storage Only

All data processed by Pixio AI is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's local storage API:

• Webpage Content: Extracted content is stored locally for quick access
• Chat History: Your conversations remain in your browser only
• Settings: API keys and preferences stored locally
• Extension Data: All functionality data stays on your device

Data Retention

Data is automatically cleaned up:

• Old webpage content is removed after 7 days
• Cache size is limited to prevent storage bloat
• You can manually clear all data through the extension settings

3. Third-Party Services

OpenAI API

Pixio AI uses OpenAI's API to provide AI functionality:

• Your API Key: You provide your own OpenAI API key
• Data Transmission: Webpage content and questions are sent to OpenAI for processing
• OpenAI's Privacy: OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this data transmission
• No Pixio Servers: Data goes directly from your browser to OpenAI, not through our servers

OpenAI Data Handling

According to OpenAI's current API policy:

• API data is not used to train models (as of 2024)
• Data may be retained for 30 days for abuse monitoring

4. Permissions Explained

Pixio AI requests only essential permissions:

• activeTab: To read content from the current webpage you're viewing
• storage: To save settings and chat history locally in your browser
• scripting: To inject the floating chat widget and content extraction scripts

5. Data Security

• No data transmission to Pixio servers
• API key stored securely in browser's encrypted storage
• All network requests use HTTPS encryption
• Extension follows Chrome's security best practices

6. Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Clear Data: Use the "Clear Data" button in settings to remove all stored information
• Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all associated data
• API Key: You manage your own OpenAI account and billing
• Disable Features: Turn off auto-extraction or other features as needed

7. Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be:

• Posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
• Announced through extension updates if significant
• Never reduce privacy protections without clear notice
